Andrew Maggs CPA (FPS) CFP
Chief Operating Officer
Andrew’s Financial Services Industry career commenced in the early
1980’s as an accountant. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant with
an additional Financial Planning Specialist recognition, a Certified Financial
Planner and a tax agent. Andrew first joined Financial Technology Securities
in 1992 as a Tax Manager and Financial Adviser. Since that time he has had
a number of senior management and client advisory roles, both with-in Financial
Technology Securities as well as with other Australian Financial Service Licensees
and Public Accounting Practices.
Recently Andrew was appointed to lead Financial Technology Securities’ expanding
Victorian division. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Fintech Accounting
Services (FAS).

Des Britton - Sales Manager
Des commenced in the financial services industry in the mid 1970’s as a life insurance adviser. His sales management career commenced in 1986 in NZ. Since then, his career has included management roles in various financial services and banking groups in both New Zealand and Australia.. Over this period he has:
- Successfully managed various sales teams, including independent advisery teams and teams from within the banking sector both in Australia and New Zealand
- Was part of the inaugural management team that successfully launched the financial adviser channel within the Suncorp retail branch network.
- Took time out of the corporate world twice to develop a youth charity, once in New Zealand in the early 80’s and also in Australia in the late 90’s
- Moved back to New Zealand in 2003 to take up a role with one of New Zealand’s leading banks and fund managers as an Area Manager responsible for the sales and advisory process of the bank’s investment advisers for half of New Zealand
He is a member of FINSIA. Des returned to Australia in 2007 to take up the position of Sales Manager for Financial Technology Securities. He brings to the company years of experience in the Financial Services Industry and a forward thinking management style. Des is married to Rosemary with two adult children. He aims to make a difference in his spheres of influence, and is very passionate about his family and the success of his team. Other interests include fishing, youth and indigenous issues, travel and most sports (especially those which involve a black jersey!!!)

Jeff Lowe – Company Secretary
Jeff has a Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting major, and he has attained
his Diploma of Financial Planning. He is a member of the Financial Planning
Association, and an Associate of the Australian Society of CPA’s. From
1972 to 1991, Jeff was employed by Capita Insurance. His experience during
his 19 years involved all aspects of Life Office administration, with the latest
positions held being Queensland Administration Manager and Queensland State
Accountant. Jeff has been involved in the financial planning industry since
1991, and initially held a proper authority through another company prior to
the establishment of FTS in 1993. Since 1993, Jeff has been a shareholder of Financial Technology Securities. He has been pivotal in Financial
Technology Securities Investment strategy and the Investment Review
Committee. His day-to-day duties involve all aspects of financial planning
including our cims client, superannuation rollovers and retirement planning
in the financial planning role. Financial Technology Advisers hold Jeff’s
opinion and guidance in high regard, and he is considered a financial planning ‘mentor’.

Veronica Rooker – Quality Assurance
Following her Bachelor of Economics study, Veronica joined the ANZ Bank in
1980 and over the following 10 years enjoyed such positions as:
- Training Officer Graduate Recruitment Manager Corporate Policy Officer
in Melbourne; and
- Manager Corporate Banking.
Her extensive experience covered all aspects of banking, in particular lending
and policy. She then joined a financial planning company in 1991, which eventually
led to the establishment of Financial Technology Securities in 1993. Veronica
has been a shareholder since that time. Outside her directorial
duties, Veronica has been integral in all aspects of the day-to-day financial
planning activity of the branches. This has enabled her to become fully conversant
with all positions at the branch level. Her appointment to Quality Assurance
in 2002, and the Chairman of the Banking Committee, compliments her background
in Financial Technology Securities, and banking.
